Kenya, Day 7 – The Kite

Kenya, Day 7 – The Kite

I wake up early and am exited. I am really looking forward to surf the warm waters. The day is sunny and nice as usual. My legs still hurt a bit and i am still fully loaded, but it kind of gets better. The way to the school is not far and nice to walk, at most a kilometer.

My Teacher introduces himself as “Maga” or at least that’s how he pronounces it and i can’t stop smirking.

There is quite a bit of Equipment to carry and this Kite (that’s what the dragon is called) is larger then i expected. Maga explains me everything from how the ropes are called to how security measurements are taken and we inflate the Kite. Damn, i hope i don’t have to untangle those ropes. The Kite is giant and pulls heavy – this is no toy, but for some reason i feel remembered to my childhood days when we used to let Dragons fly on the field behind our house.

After a while i have control over the beast and can tell him what to do. This feels great and is fun. No water today, the Kite was not the only thing flying.

Fruits for lunch and a relaxed afternoon with reading on my balcony.

In the evening some traditional Muthokoi (the stew) with Sukuma Wiki (the green) and offals in a traditional Kamba restaurant is on the table. I love the stew and the green, but the offals are not my thing.

Some bear in a quit local Bar close the day.
